I've lost 18lbs so far and I've just had the band fitted! It's still coming off!
Having tried almost every diet going, I was at a point in my life that I needed to explore a different avenue.
I googled hypnotherapy and was very impressed with Sam's site so asked to make an appointment.
When I first met Sam she immediately put me at ease as I was nervous about the whole concept. I needn't have been, the information Sam gave me really helped me understand WHY I ate as opposed to the diets I had tried that want you to stop you eating certain things etc, Sam helped make me understand what triggered my eating which no diet had ever touched on.
The hypnosis part was so relaxing and felt so good, as soon as my first appointment had finished I knew something had changed in me.
By my second apointment I had lost 9lbs and can honestly say I was aware that I DIDN'T want the food anymore, I could say NO!
By my third appointment I had lost 12lbs and 5.5 inches off my body (3 inches from my waist)!
In a few short weeks this has changed my whole outlook on life. I am so confident and happy. Through the weeks of hypnosis you feel so realxed and calm, it is something I should have done a long time ago. The buzz I feel when people comment on my weight loss makes me so happy and I have Sam to thank for helping me with this, but I am also so proud of myself for getting here.
I feel amazing!

Follow my first initial appointment with Sam I felt more at ease. Once Sam explained the medical side of the hypnosis, I had a much better understanding of my problem. After my session and regularly listening to the CD she had provided, my problem has cleared up to 95% and I feel confident this will fully clear up in time. I am so pleased with the results.

I've lost 21lbs so far!!
When I saw an advert for Gastric band hypnotherapy sessions with Sam, I must admit I thought, no, it doesnt work does it? Having a stressful job and not being able to sleep meant I was attempting to make my self feel better with food.
My curiosity go the better of my and my ever decreasing dispair over my weight.
My initial consultation with Sam was a bit nerve racking, mailnly bacause I was going into the unknown, I had researched a little bit but had never been hypnotised. Sam was wonderful, putting me at my ease from the get go. During our chat Sam explained to me about why I over ate, about my fight or flight responses, and the 'polar bear'(negative thinking)! I never realised the the left side of my brain and my right side conflicted each other!! And that I had a stress buckret that I needed to empty on a regular basis, mine was overflowing!!! After discussing my general health and doing the science part, Sam then asked me to lie on the bed, I can honestly say that during the whole time I was 'under' I felt so relaxed and at the time could hear everything that Sam said, but on reflection later on I could not remember anything.
I walked away from that first session very relaxed, probably more so than I have in a long time, that night I listened to the cd that Sam had prepared for me and enjoyed a very refreshed nights sleep.
From that first day I can honestly say that I did not eat as much as I normally would.
Sam gave me a list of instructions to use as a guideline, eat when hungry, eat what I want, enjoy what I am eating and too stop when I am full. I lost 9lbs that first week, I listened to my cd religiously every night. The most amazing session for me was when (and i somehow remeber this bit more) that chocolate would no longer taste the same anymore..... and it doesnt!!!
I had four sessions with Sam, the last one was when I had the 'surgery', i can vaguely remember the noise of my trolley being wheeled down to theatre, the machines in the theatre and then the antiseptic smell of the room.
It was the most fantastic experience I have ever had. I have now lost a total of 21lbs.
I have to work at it, it is a tool for me to use but at the end of the day I have to make the healthy choice about what I put in my mouth, the weight loss is slow, but slow is better, it will stay off longer.
I no longer binge on bread and biscuits, I can have one if I want one but I no longer have to have copiuos amounts or feel the need to finish off the packet. I can open a box of chocolates and have one then throw it in the bin. There is an added bonus to the hypnotherapy, I sleep much better, when I start to get stressed or I notice my sleep pattern changing I put on my cd and close my eyes... I try and listen to it 3-4 times a week and will continue to do so.
I intend to have 2-3 follow up weight management sessions with Sam, it was a very positive experince for me and I will continue to visit Sam.

Having previously been diagnosed with generalised anxiety, I had 'recovered' to quite some extent, but found that on stopping medication anxieties were beginning to creep in again. In particular, I found myself obsessing about toilets and needing to pass urine very frequently if entering unfamiliar situations, or areas where I was not fully in control. I was also building anxiety about going on holiday and was concerned about being able to cope away from home.
Sam's solution focused approach encourages a positive focus and I found her very supportive during the initial sessions where I found myself very emotional as I tried to talk through my concerns and find ways in which to move forward. She gave me a CD to listen to with a view to relaxing and sleeping well at the end of a day, and this certainly worked. I began sleeping far better and have lost the 4.30 am thinking time I'd become so accustomed to.
Sessions produced goals and strategies to be used in times of stress or anxiety. I realised that I was 'normal' and a perfectly able to cope with things by reframing my thoughts and setting small targets. Moving on, I found myself in situations where I was scared, such as up a mountain, and I could bring my breathing back under control, rationalising the situation better.
Longer term, I conquered a big city holiday which the year before had me shaking and in tears on an underground platform, terrified of both the crowded trains and the flight home. I've successfully changed job, initially managing the interview and combatting my obsessive thinking about needing the loo before it! I've coped with the stresses involved in the new role and am very positive in my outlook. In general things that would have upset me no longer get me down. I realise that I can only control my own thoughts and the negative comments that others may occasionally make or things that I may say or do without thinking are not worth dwelling on.
In general, I think my attitude to life and myself as an individual has proved. I'm more confident in myself and far more relaxed in life. I'd thoroughly recommend working with Sam - I feel it was worth every penny!
